１０月２５日に米国ワシントン州のレッドモンド中学校が秋のコンサートを開催し、そこで演奏されたトロンボーン・ソロの"A Song For Japan"の演奏に関する投稿です。そこで私は、A Song For Japanの背景の紹介とともに、大惨事となったマイノット（ノースダコタ）の歴史的洪水について述べました。ふたつの学校が完全に破壊され、他の多くの学校も大きな被害を受け、 校区内では惨い数の犠牲者を出しました。私たちは、自分たちのコンサートで義援金を募ることを決め、この曲を演奏し、とくに学校や音楽に関してマイノットが直面している難局について周知するとともに、日本でも引き続き困難が続いていることをお知らせした結果、コンサートは大成功を収めました。ここに、551.93ドルをマイノット公立学校財団学校復旧基金へ寄付したことをご報告いたします。トロンボーン演奏を通じたチャリティとこのプロジェクトへの尽力を、ありがとうございます。（レッドモンドＪＨバンドのドン・ファーネスさんより）
On October 25, 2011, the Redmond Junior High Bands in Redmond, Washington, USA, performed our Fall Concert. On the program I performed “A Song for Japan” as a trombone solo. I explained the background of “A Song for Japan,” and also told of recent catastrophic and historic flooding in the city of Minot, North Dakota, USA. Their community suffered severe losses in their school district, with two schools being completely destroyed and many others damaged. We decided that we would like to gather donations at our concert as this song was being played, and raise awareness of the need in Minot?specifically their schools and music, and also the continuing needs of Japan. We had a very successful concert.
We would like to let you know we raised $551.93 for the Minot Public Schools Foundation School Recovery Fund. Thank you for the encouragement of charity through trombone playing. Don Furness (RJH Bands and Guitar)

The Ensemble Fanfare visited the tragically damaged Ishinomaki City
アンサンブル・ファンファール（長野県飯田市）では、2011年10月9日におよそ700km離れた宮城県石巻市立住吉中学校吹奏楽部を訪問しました。石巻市は東日本大震災の被災地の中でも、特に被害の大きかった場所の一つです。
レッスンやミニコンサートを通じて、心の交流を行いました。生徒さんや先生方は震災後不自由な生活をされていますが、今回の音楽を通じた交流が、明日へ向かって生きるエネルギーの一部となれば幸いです。
今回演奏した中から、「A Song for Japan」をアップしました。傷だらけですが、演奏を通して伝わる何かがあったと思います。住吉中吹奏楽部の皆さん、校長先生はじめ先生方、保護者の皆様、本当にありがとうございました。
当日は団員から集まった義援金15,500円と食料品などの物資も中学校へお届けしました。また、去る4月24日に行ったチャリティーコンサートでは187,515円もの義援金が集まり、飯田市社会福祉協議会を通して東日本大震災義援金として寄付されています。ファンファールでは、12月の定期演奏会でも"A Song For Japan"を演奏するほか、他にもビッグバンドや吹奏楽団でも演奏して、ステッカーも販売する予定です。今後も音楽を通じて、できる範囲での支援を続けていくそうです。
「被災地へ行って見て感じて来たことを、回りの方にお伝えしていきたいと思います。これからも出来る範囲で支援を行っていきたい」とメンバーの藤森さんよりメッセージをお寄せいただきました。

１１月２０日（日）ウィンドオーケストラあんこ〜る
"Ensemble Fanfare" from Nagano Pref. visited the Ishinomaki Junior High School in Miyagi Pref. and played a mini concert including "A Song for Japan".
After traveling for nine hours by bus the members of the ensemble got shocked by seeing the views whcih were very different from the ones they had seen on TV. Every member of the group thought that people outside the disaster had started forgetting what happened in March - they all reminded "The world should never forget it!". In their mini concert the ensemble played the piece with the feelings from the bottom of the hearts.
They deivered 15,500 YEN as the donation from the members and lots of goods and food to the school. This group also collected 187,515 YEN at their benefit concert on the 24th of April and sent all of it to the east Japan. They are planning to play this piece in their regular concert in December, and the members have plans to play it with bigbands and windbands and sell the "A Song for Japan "stickers.
"We will try to tell people about whatever we saw in Ishinomaki and continue supportive activities as long as possible." said one of the members M. Fujimori.

A Song For Japan from Belgium!
ベルギーの「ベルギー・トロンボーン・クワイヤー」が"A Song For Japan"を最近のコンサートで演奏し、そのライヴをYoutubeに投稿してくれました。
「この曲の演奏に挑戦しリハーサルを重ねることでとても良い時間が過ごせましたし、ごらんの通り聴衆も大変感じ入ってくれていました。」
The Belgian Trombone Choir has performed "A Song for Japan" on their last concert in Bierbeek on the 1st of October and put the live performane on Youtube.
We had a great time rehearsing the piece as well as performing it, and as you can see the audience was very impressed.

Horn Quartet visited the destroyed Rikuzen-Takata City.
ホルン奏者shinさんからお寄せいただきました、ホルン四重奏の投稿です。使われている映像は、お仕事で2011年4月11日に岩手県陸前高田市に赴かれた際に撮影されたものだそうです。
「 その時に見た光景が忘れられず、自分がTVの仕事をしているのにもかかわらずTVの表現力の乏しさに愕然とするほど、画面で見るのとは違った迫力を感じました。その時に画像を撮影したのですが、自分自身でその迫力に負け、その画像を見ることもせずお蔵入りにしていました。しかし、最近になってようやくそのショックからも立ち直ることができ、A Song For Japanの活動を耳にするようになり、演奏を録音し、撮影した画像を編集したものをYouTubeにUPしました。私たちはアマチュアですが、音楽を通じて何か伝えることができればという思いと、この悲惨な震災の爪痕を忘れてはいけないという思いでこの映像と演奏を残したいと思います。」

"I could not get rid of the images in my head after I saw the view of endless disaster. It was such a completely different scale of the power of the view that I could not believe how poor our televisons' power of expression was, though I had been working in a TV broadcast myself. I took some pictures at that time, but I have not been able to look at them at all for their strong impact. These days I finally recovered from the shock and heard about A Song For Japan Project. I made a recording and out it on Youtube with the pictures that I took. We are amateurs as horn players, but we would like to leave this video with our thoughts that we might be able to send some messages and that we should never forget these miserable scars by earthquakes and Tsunami."
