日本に捧ぐ歌〜交響楽バージョン世界初演 ８パート・トロンボーン・バンダ付き

東日本大震災後、自らも被災しながら地域社会のためにいち早く立ち上がった仙台フィルハーモニー管弦楽団。OTTAVAではリクエスト番組「OTTAVA con brio」の中に仙台フィルを応援するコーナー「Meet the Sendai Philharmonic 〜つながる心 つながる力〜」をつくり、その活動を全国の人々に紹介し応援してきました。そして、2012年3月31日には、KDDI株式会社のご協力を得て、「つながる心 つながる力 みんなでつくる復興コンサート supported by KDDI」を開催。
このコンサートは演奏曲目をリクエストで決める"みなさんと一緒につくるコンサート"とし、想いを託したリクエスト曲が全国から数多く寄せられました。
その中でも、特に要望が強かったのがオランダのトロンボーン奏者達が、被災された方々に想いを寄せて2011年春スタートしたプロジェクト「A Song For Japan」から生まれた曲、「A Song For Japan〜日本に捧ぐ歌」の演奏でした。
3月31日のコンサートで演奏された「A Song For Japan〜日本に捧ぐ歌」は、作曲者のスティーヴン・フェルヘルストさん自身が、この日のために編曲をしたシンフォニー・オーケストラ・ヴァージョン。また、演奏は仙台-フィルと聖ウルスラ学院英智高等学校吹奏楽部、宮城県仙台第三高等学校吹奏楽部の高校生トロンボーン奏者との共演が実現しました。

http://ottava.jp/Directly after the devastating earthquakes on March 11, 2011 the members of the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra also suffering, stood up and started supporting the people and the community. The radio station "OTTAVA" immediately contributed hours of their programming in which they spotlighted the orchestra members and announced the orchestra's activities to the entire country. A few ideas resulted from this programming. One idea was to organize a benefit concert for the Sendai Philharmonic. Through additional support by KDDI, a major Japanese phone company, a benefit concert occurred on March 31, 2012.
The repertoire for this special concert was chosen by thousands of requests by “OTTAVA” listeners from all over Japan. One of the most requested pieces was A Song For Japan by Steven Verhelst. Verhelst composed a new special symphonic orchestral arrangement specifically to be premiered at the benefit concert by the Sendai Philharmonic. This special symphonic arrangement also included an optional 8 part trombone choir. At the benefit concert, eight high school students from the city of Sendai joined the Sendai Philharmonic to perform this new arrangement of A Song For Japan.
