The Funasui Trombones performed A Song For Japan!

船橋吹奏楽団 第90回定期演奏会が2016年12月11日(日)に船橋市民文化ホールで開催され、ロビーコンサートでA Song For Japanが演奏されました。動画をお寄せいただきましたのでご紹介いたします!

On the 11th of December was the 90th Regular Concert by "Funashui", the Funabashi Wind Orchestra at the Funabashi Citizen Culture Hall, Chiba, Japan. Thanks to their trombone trio for performing the song so beautifully!

5 years after "3.11". Lots of thanks to everyone for his/her great support and pray for Japan in the past five years. A Song For Japan Project Team would like to send condolences to the 155,894 victims and wish the 2,561 missing people to be found and return to the family as soon as possible.

Approx 175,000 people have not returned to their home. Approx 60,000 of them still live in temporal houses. (As of the end of January, 23,763 people in the Miyagi Prefecture, 16,583 people in the Iwate Prefecture and 18,602 people in the Fukushima Prefecture)
3,407 evacuees of the Iwate, the Miyagi and the Fukushima prefectures have passed away due to health problems or suicide (as of the end of last September).

We wish to keep playing heart-warming music and supporting the people of Japan until they have peace and their 100%-full smiles back.

A Song For Japan and donation by Bessho Brass!

当サイトから400枚ご購入いただいたA Song For Japanステッカーは、パンフレットのクロスワードパズルに絡めて、350枚が配布されました。合わせて募金も行われ、合計¥41,674‐を日本赤十字社の方にご寄付いただきました。



The Wind band director, Mr. Yasuhisa Yamamoto, of the Beppu Shogyo High School took part in A Song For Japan with their 52th Bessho Brass Concert on the 27th of December, 2015.

For the full-house audience of approx 1,000 people, they performed a program consisting of classical music, music with a guest trombonist Mr Kazuyoshi Wakasa, marching performance and pop music including A Song For Japan and Stars and Stripes Forever with the guest soloist again.
The entire concert was in a nice at-home atmosphere.

The band purchased 400 of A Song For Japan stickers, which they attached as part of the cross-word game in their program booklet. The donation was also collected during the concert, resulted 41,674 JPY and sent to the Japan Rec Cross.

Mr Yamamoto says, "Participation to this donation became a great opportunity for both the people in the audience and the students to realize that scars of the Tsunami disaster were still remaining and that music could help somebody somehow. We wish the project keeps running and the recovery of the Tohoku area come true as soon as possible. Thank you for this opportunity and help."

A Song For Japan project team would also like to send our thanks to the Bessho Brass.

A SONG FOR JAPAN from Arizona!

アリゾナ州立大学デザート・ボーンズ・トロンボーン・クワイヤーが4月13日にA SONG FOR JAPANを演奏しました。ダグラス・ヨー氏が編曲した、テナー・トロンボーン、バス・トロンボーン、オクテットのためのバージョンです。

The Arizona State University Desert Bones Trombone Choir gave a performance of "A Song for Japan" on April 13, 2015. They played a version Mr Douglas Yeo adopted for tenor and bass trombone solo with 8 part trombone choir accompaniment.
